Gamelan is an Indonesian musical ensemble that features instruments such as gongs, bamboo flutes, and strings. Each instrument is made especially for a Gamelan set, built to stay together and unique to other Gamelan sets. Gamelan’s role in Javanese rituals is so important that there is a saying, “It’s not official until the gong is heard”
